How much does a typical built-in cost?

The price of any built-in is primarily determined based on four factors:
Materials: the type of wood will be used (plywood vs. solid wood), the species of wood (Birch, Maple, Red Oak, Cherry, White Oak, Walnut, etc.), the features such as the number of drawers, cabinet doors, counter tops, shelves, etc.


Labour: the amount of time required to build the unit(s)


Finish: whether the built-in will be stained or spray painted
Delivery and installation: bigger or more complex built-ins require more time to be installed


Each custom built-in project is different and requires different combinations of the four factors stated above. However, typically, built-in projects start at $3,500 and go up from there based on the size, scope, and choice of materials.

Do you deliver and install the built-ins?

Yes, all the built-in projects we build are delivered and installed. The cost of the delivery and installation is included in the project’s price.

Can you help me fine-tune my design ideas for my built-in?

Yes, absolutely. We often find that customers have a good idea about what they want, but might not consider the finer details of the functionality of their desired built-ins. We love working with our customers to help them understand how different components of their built-ins will work together and make recommendations about how to maximize the utility of their built-ins while keeping in mind the impact of the choice of materials and features on the budget. 

How long does it take to have my project completed?

There are two time factors to consider:


Before the project can begin: based on the time of the year, there is usually a delay between a few weeks to a few months before your project can start being built. 


Once the project starts: the scope of the project will dictate the timeline.  Some simpler projects can be built and installed within the same week.  More often, projects will take several weeks to build and then a few days to install. 

Can you build stand-alone components such as drawers or doors for existing built-ins?

No, we don’t take on projects that only require stand-alone items such as cabinet doors or drawers.

What are the payment terms?

We require a 50% deposit upon agreement. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable. The deposit is used to cover the cost of the materials and to reserve the time in the calendar for the build and installation. The other 50% needs to be paid the day of the installation. Payment options are e-transfer or cheque.
