Can you help me fine-tune my design ideas for my built-in?
Absolutely. We often find that customers have a good idea of what they want, but they might overlook the finer details of their desired built-in functionality. We love working with our customers to help them understand how different components will interact and make recommendations to maximize their built-in’s utility, all while considering the impact of material and feature choices on their budget.
How long does it take to have my project completed?
There are two time factors to consider:
- Before the project begins, there’s usually a delay of a few weeks to a few months, depending on the time of year. This delay allows for necessary preparations and planning.
- Once the project starts, the scope will dictate the timeline. Simpler projects can be completed and installed within a single week, while more complex projects typically take several weeks to build and then a few days to install.
Do you deliver and install the built-ins?
Yes, all the built-in projects we create are delivered and installed. The cost of delivery and installation is included in the project’s price.
Can you build stand-alone components such as drawers or doors for existing built-ins?
We don’t take on projects that only require standalone items like cabinet doors or drawers. We also typically avoid retrofitting existing built-ins.
How much does a typical built-in cost?
The price of any built-in is primarily determined based on four factors:
- Materials and features such as the number of drawers, cabinet doors, countertops, shelves, etc.
- Labour: the amount of time required to build the unit(s)
- Finish: whether the built-in will be stained or spray painted
- Delivery and installation: bigger or more complex built-ins require more time to be installed
Each custom built-in project is different and requires different combinations of the four factors stated above.
However, typically, most custom built-in projects fall between $6,000–$25,000 depending on size and materials.
What are the payment terms?
We require a 50% deposit upon agreement. Please note, this deposit is non-refundable. It covers the cost of materials and reserves the time for the build and installation. The remaining 50% is due on the day of installation. Payment options are e-transfer or cheque.
