What Does a Custom Built-In Cost in Calgary?

Custom work means custom pricing — but that shouldn't mean a mystery. Here's exactly what goes into the cost of your project, and typical ranges by room type.

The Short Answer

Most custom built-in projects fall between $6,000–$25,000, depending on size, materials, and complexity.

What Actually Drives the Price

Every project's cost comes down to four factors:

1. Materials & features — the number of drawers, cabinet doors, countertops, shelves, and the materials used for each.
2. Labour — the time required to build your specific unit(s).
3. Finish — whether the piece is stained, made with already finished materials, or spray painted (spray finishes typically involve more prep and cost).
4. Delivery & installation — larger or more complex builds require more installation time; this is always included in your quoted price, never billed separately.

No hidden line items — the price we quote is the price you pay, barring any changes you request after design approval. Important to note that any electrical, drywall, plumbing, or other related work is not included in the price.

Payment Terms

• 50% deposit upon agreement — this is non-refundable and covers materials plus reserves your build/install time. It's due at signing.
• Remaining 50% due on the day of installation.
• Payment options: e-transfer or cheque.
